Lavinia graduated with a Master in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Trieste, She then moved to the University of Heidelberg, Germany, to pursue a PhD in Life Sciences. During her Postdoc at Johns Hopkins Medical School, she started her own line of research in the field of Notch signaling. Lavinia is now an iMBA fellow at the University of Illinois.
Lavinia joined SICHH in 2016. She brings more than 16 years of experience in neurology research. She has been a group leader in neuroscience at the University of Fribourg, secured significant funding and has become an authority in the field of Notch signaling in brain pathophysiology. Besides her research activity, she is a lecturer in Neuropathology at the Department of Medicine of the University of Fribourg. She is also active in the Swiss Startup Scene and has been running the venture competition 2016 for western Switzerland.
