Bio-mimetic structures and systems
Mimicking natural structures to be applied on actual technological challenges
Nature provide us with 3.8 billion years of research and development. Our wish is to use this valuable knowledge and apply it to actual technological challenges in different size scales. Examples can range from building structures inspired by the outstanding mechanical properties of tight bone to ventilation systems inspired by the smart air management of termite mounds.
Nature rewards cooperation so, along with our academic partners, we will explore structural or functional needs and try to solve to the problem by mimicking a solution which is already available in Nature.
Our internal competences in biology, physics, chemistry and materials science will allow us to understand the challenges and approach them from different perspectives. Our versatile platforms can provide the technical support to i.e. characterize materials at the nanoscale or perform simulations requiring a high computing power.
